         ~ Visiting Rotarians: None

         ~ Guests:  None

         ~ News - Greg reported the sad news that one of their family members was in the

                         quake in Haiti and has not been heard from. The Club extends their prayers

                         and hopes for Greg  and Susie.The tragedy of the earthquake has hit home

                          and is not just "news". May Susie have a safe journey s she travels to Florida

                         to be with the family.

  

Meeting Program:

           This was Club Assembly and President Julie announced the following:

             - The Board in emergency email session authorized the donation of $1000 to support

                 the Haiti emergency effort.  The aide will be coordinated within the District to support

                 the only fully functional hospital left in Haiti. The donations will go to Konbit

                 Sante' (which means Partnership for Health). The organization is headquartered in

                 Portland Maine and operates the Saint Justinian Hospital located about 100 miles from

                 Port-au-Prince. The hospital is organized, has emergeny plans in placeand is on site

                  following their plan. victims are being air-lifted to the hospital   and emergency medical

                  teams are working in the destroyed capital city. Since 2007-2008 16 clubs in

                  our District have been working with Konbit Sante'

             - The Free Dinner for Seniors will be Sunday March 28 at the Recreation Center

             - It looks like the Taste of Kittery will be April 15, it was later last year but this year

                 we will be helping DG Jeff prepare for the District Conference in early May.At

                 this meeting we decided to have a regular Silent Auction as well as both a

                 wine and beer raffle

We had no speaker today, so we decided to honor the provider of our speaker books

 by having Alan sign the book to be donated to the kittery Schools. It was also

 mentioned that Alan's wife Melissa was a major player in our Speaker's Book

 effort, so a warm "Thank you" goes out to Melissa as well 

                

      50-50 Raffle

          (50% of the pot goes for club administration and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their       

          raffle ticket is chosen and they select the one joker hidden in the ever-decreasing deck of

          cards. If the joker is not drawn then the pot rolls over to the next week).

 

          President Julie won the raffle and drew the king of hearts, losing $164
