Tamara Milliard was introduced by Greg Rydza. Tamara was asked to give a
"Briefly Business" presentation introducing herslf and her business. Tammy is the

She is open to the public as well and can be reached at 439-4600.

Greg introduced Tammy to the Club
Tammy's father was a 25 year Rotarian and Past President of his club and hopefully
we will see a lot more of her on Tuesday mornings. Susie proudly showed off Tammy's
design of her hair. Getting right in the spirit of the club Tammy said she provides discounts
for men with hair limitations (maybe a wax and shine for a certain gleaming dome ;-0). .
Our main speaker was our own PPx3 Sue Czarnionka, who spoke on "A Healthy Heart"
Sue talked of her experiances as a cadiological care nurse and explained the causes and
symptoms of heart disease. Her talk was very timely since not too long ago District
7780 (our District) lost a very active club president to heart attack.

Past PresidentX3 Sue promoting the maintaining of a healthy
heart ~ tough news for those who hit the eggs and bacon
and passed up the oatmeal and fruit
50-50 Raffle
(50% of the pot goes for club administration and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their
raffle ticket is chosen and they select the one joker hidden in the ever-decreasing deck of
cards. If the joker is not drawn then the pot rolls over to the next week).
Dee won the raffle and drew the 8 of hearts, losing an unknown pot!
(Bill forgot to bring the running tally, but the pot grows
for at least another week ~ whatever it is!

Post Meeting: After this week's meeting Ellen, Russ, Pat, Dee, and Dave went to
Mitchell School to hand out the Dictionaries we have supplied to the Third Graders.
Each dictionary is labeled with the students name and is theirs to keep. The dictionaries
were immediately put to use by the Third Grade teachers, Mrs.Lantz, Mrs. Sama, and
Mrs.Wilson

The students immediately started exploring their books as soon as they received them
. The teachers of their following grades(5th & 6th) know the students all have their
own dictionaries and will continue to use them in their classes through school.
Providing third grade studentsis a project started by a lady in Georgia in the early 1990's
and picked up by many Rotary Clubs in the USA since the late 1990's as part of a
continuing effort to promote literacy in their communities. For many students it is their
first personal book and the only dictionary in their home. The effort taken to personalize
the books and present them individually by name is rewarded with the obvious sense of
pride expressed by the students . The students are also impressed to find out how much
other information can be found between the covers of the dictionary.

A great bunch of kids and I am sure we will see many
of them back as Sudents of the Month
Do not forget to regularly check the calendar of our Web Site for long term schedules and the photo Album for updates on our Program pictures and Activity pictures.
