The Club had decided at the end of December to reschedule the canceled

Free holiday Dinner to January or February. At this meeting after discussion

of weather problems, conflicts with other events (including the Superbowl)

the club decided to postpone the dinner until spring.

The Program Speaker was Mellssa Paly, President of the Board of the Kittery

Land Trust. Melissa discribed some of the recent accomplishments of the

Trust, including the Fairchild Easement on Gerrish Island along Chauncey

Creek. She also reviewed the accomplishments of the KLT with other

regional land trust and Govenment organizations on the

Agamenticus-to-the-Sea project, which has succeeded in raising over

$10 million dollars and gaining conservation easements on land over

$23 million in value in southern Maine.

The Kittery Land Trust web site is www.kitterylandtrust.org.

"Briefly Business" ~ Remember you can invite a friend to attend a

meeting to address the club for a minute of two about their business.

It is a great lead-in to getting someone to learn a bit about Rotary

and our club. Let Sue, Julie, or Pam know so they can make sure a

couple of minutes are set aside in the schedule

Do not forget to regularly check the calendar of our Web Site for long term schedules and the photo Album for updates on our Program pictures and Activity pictures.
