Traip Academy will have a group traveling to Normandy France this spring to tour the areas where the allies invaded occupied France in World War II.The group has been raising funds to ensure that the trip is open to all who want to go and has been studying the history of the battle and the area in preparation.
R.W. Traip Principal Jane Durgin and three of the students participating in the project, presented the goals and plans for the trip that will take place this spring. The group is committed to raising the funds to cover the cost of the trip of 20 students and two faculty who will be traveling. One of the upcoming projects is a  World War II trivia night at the Blue mermaid Island Grill, where 20% of the income that night will go toward the trip. The Students have been putting together the questions on WW II for use in the evening. As the group observed, the preparations for the trip and the challenge to raise the necessary funds is as much of an education as the trip itself will be. Acting President Brad presented the group with a Club donation of $500 in support of their project.
