The November Students of the Month are Senior Bahnaya Cohen for R.W. Traip Academy, and 8th Grader Samuel Abbott for Shapleigh School
Samuel (Sam) Abbott is the 2023 November Shapleigh Student of the Month. Sam has a long history of very positive work attitude at Shapleigh. He is not only very engaged in his studies, but he is open and supportive of his peers . He  works very well with others and very conscientious with his classwork. Outside of class he is known as a very good soccer player both individually and as a team player, He also reports a he is an active hockey player, managing to get his school work down despite the demands of  available ice time.

Bahnaya Cohen is praised by her teachers for not only doing the legwork of knowing the course material, but her ability to pull is all together and apply that knowledge to subsequent events and situations. She intergrates what she has learned into future analysis. She is also a mentor, taking part in the program where Traip Students can work with Shapleigh students, where she puts out a real effort to work with her student and make her time available to support. Bahnaya is not commited to a college yet, but knows it will be in Colorado and involve access to the slopes.
