Nellie Young, our newest member has a new project that she is working on and is looking for support.
After having raised $18,000, including a $4,000 district grant from District 7780 to fund a previous project in Pachacamac, Peru, Nellie is embarking on a new project in the same geographical area. This project's mission is "to empower youth in Peru through hands-on training in cooking and entrerpeneurship, helping them gain skills to find jobs, start food businesses, and support their communities."

To this end, Nellie is working with the Pachacamac Rotary Club to help supply some of the needs of the culinary school in Santo Rosa, District of Pachacamac in Peru. The school was officially recognized by the government in February of 2025 and presently has 2 teachers and 20 students. Food that the student make is sold to help fund the school. This supports local families facing food insecurity and helps improve nutrution and reduce anemia in the community.
Some of the needs that the project has are some major items such as electricity installation including a generator, equipment such as a refrigerator, stove, bread dough mixer, furniture, and miscellaneous kitchen implements. The total cost of the project is $6,000 of which $2355 has already been raised.
Nellie is scheduled to speak to about 25 Rotary Clubs to raise funds for this project. You can support this project using the QR codes below.
