The Club was honored to host the December Students of the Month, their families, and school representatives. For December, the Shapleigh Student of the Month is Fifth Grader Michael Shapleigh; the R.W. Traip Academy Student of the Month is senior Terry Gagner.
Both students had not only their parents, but also their siblings, able to join with us.  We were also grateful to have club member and School District Superintendent Eric Waddell as the storm of the previous day had caused Traip to be on total generator power and Shapleigh School to be shut down, making this day even busier than normal for all concerned..

Michael Shapleigh ,as can be noted by the twinkle in his eye,has a wonderful personality and attitude. Michael a great student and a participant in many sports.
He received praise from teachers and staff for his ability to work with others and his commitment to learning.

Senior Terry  Gagner  has mastered about all the science he can get out of Traip. He is also working as a teaching assistant with the teachers helping other students as well as the teachers, he is respected by students for his ability to support them and to share what he knows. As Superintendent Eric pointed out Terry is a "Renaissance man"well rounded and accomplished in science, arts, and sports.

In addition to a certificate from the Club and school documenting their selection as Student of the Month, each student is presented with a Rotary 4-Way test Medallion, they sign a book to be donated in their names to the schools libraries, and their names are added to the Student of the Month Plaques on display in their schools.
