Once again, the Rotary Club of Kittery joined in friendly competition with the Kittery Lion's Club and the Kittery Rotary Afterhours Club in a "Souper Bowl" to benefit Footprints Food Pantry.
Several years ago, the area Lions Clubs started a Souper Bowl to see which club could collect the most soups for their local food pantry's. Hearing about our local Lions project, Pam (now  Club president Pam) suggested we support their effort and in doing so, challenge them to see which club could collect more. The Kittery Rotary Afterhours Club (KRAH) heard about the challenge and it became a three service club effort to support Footprints Food pantry (and raise the numbers for the inter Lions Club challenge). each Club has taken the lead over the years, with the KRAH taking top honors in the last two years.

This year the total number of soups collected was a new record of 716. We are proud to note 400 of soups were collected by our club, the other two clubs tying for 2nd place. Above all it it a fun way to work together to benefit FootPrints, who are currently serving over 160 families in the Kittery-Eliot area.
