Meeting:
Board Meeting, open to all:
President Pam announced that October 24th was World Polio Day.
Pam also said that because our Service Above Self Award was the same wording as the Rotary International Award given to a maximum of 1500 Rotarians a year, we would change the local description, Brad suggested "Community Champion" awarded in recognition of service to the community. The presentation will be made at a meeting at 5 pm on October 24th at Roberts Maine Grill, 2nd floor. The event has a sponsor, thank you to member Dave Fazzina and the Cole Harrison Insurance Agency.
Next week , in addition to Bob's talk we will be presenting a donation to Table of Plenty.
Andy presented the proposed Service and Operational Budget's for the 2023-2024 RI Year. After discussion the budgets were moved and seconded and approved.
The budgets reflected the significantly lower net from the Shredding and Recycling event than we had last year. Several suggestions were made on checking the local market for the service and Keith is planning on checking the Dover Club's similar event this weekend to see who their users come from, in the meantime the club agreed that Pam should reserve a date in the spring with the recycling and shredding companies.
President Pam addressed the need for a commitment for a 2024-2025 Club President and President-Elect for the position for the following year. Keith indicated that the upcoming year was going to be very busy for him(those of us who attended Claire's retirement celebration heard their travel plans, he is also President of the End 68 Hours of Hunger Board and this will be the first year for their new Executive Director) but he would be able to consider the following year, we do need a President for the upcoming year soon as training starts in December.
