Next Meeting: Students of the Month, Traip Cafeteria
 
Meeting :President Pauli went through the busy weeks ahead
 
Tomorrow, Wednesday October 16 5:00 to 6;30, is the Kittery Community Center Volunteer Fair. We will have information there on our up coming event, Club Activities, and fundraisers.
 
Thursday October 17th, club Sponsored Red Cross Blood Drive Club members and Interact students will be supporting.
 
Sunday, October 20th, we will set up a booth at the Kittery Community Market, 10-2 pm selling calendars and providing information on the Pints for Polio
 
Tuesday the 22nd, our meeting is at Traip Academy. please car pool where possible, parking is limited. Students of the Month for September and October, for Shapleigh and Traip
 
Thursday October 24th: Pints for Polio at the Tributary Brewery, invite family and friends, $1 a drink goes toward the fight to end Polio.
 
There is no Table of Plenty planned for our support for the next month due to non availability of the space.
 
Tuesday October 29: 5-7:30 Recognition of Community Champions at the Kittery Community Center Theater, Sue is coordinating food
 
November 5th - Zoom Meeting (Voting day) at 0730, Andy and Dave G will give talks 
 
Saturday November 16th, Pizza party for the Interact Club after their clothing drive, 5 pm
 
50-50 Raffle, 50% goes to club administration, 50% goes in the "Pot" The holder of the ticket selected gets to draw from the ever reducing deck. The "pot" is now at $240.50, the deck is still pretty large, and Bob Guay had the lucky ticket.
But Bob pulled the three of Hearts, so the "Pot" will
continue to grow!
 
Our Speaker today was to have been Jud Knox, founder of the local non-profit, Heart -to heart. Jud was unable to to attend. so Andy and others shared some of the story.
Jud Knox was the long time head of York Hospital and after retiring from a career as a hospital administrator, he and his wife founded Heart to Heart senior transport to provide free transportation around the seacoast to seniors ,for shopping, appointments or other events.  They now have about 20 volunteer drivers, providing 40-60 rides a week. They are also providing other services to seniors including shopping assistance and social contacts. The website is hearttoheartagelesslove.org.
 
Saturday several of us attended the District's International Cafe. One of the featured topics was the Rotary Youth Exchange program in which Remick Matty gave a presentation on his short term exchange to India.

Remick's presentation was well done
He talked about their system of schooling, the food, and  outside trips
He also got in some of their experiences together here in the US,
Remick noted that like his brother, he would also like to do a post graduation  long term exchange.
