Meeting: President Pam opened the meeting with a presentation of a ballot for representative to the Zone nominating Committee that will choose the RI Director-nominee to serve on the Rotary International ‘s Board of Directors for 2026-2028. The Ballot has the names of five candidates. The Club gets to cast one vote and the selections can be ranked as to preference or a single candidate selected.
PDG Andy Glazier was one of the names on the ballot. Andy was requested to leave the room. The Club briefly discussed the ballot and a motion was made to vote for only a single candidate and for that candidate to be Andy. The motion was seconded and accepted unanimously. The ballot will be signed by the Club secretary and President and forwarded to the District.
The remainder of the meeting was a presentation by Bob Gray, of the Club website and Club Runner. Bob led us through the basics of using the website and where to find information within it. He also described the interconnection between the Club, District, and Rotary International websites.
Sue mentioned that at the next Club business meeting in April a representative from SWEETSER will be logging in to answer questions about the proposed seminar on mental health, we are considering hosting this year.
50-50 Raffle: Marie had the lucky ticket this morning. She delegated Bruce to take on the almost full deck. At this stage the Deck still has about 50 cards in it and the pot is about $30.
But: The 4 of Diamonds was chosen! The Deck is slowly shrinking and the pot will grow!
Our congratulations to the Waddell family who toured New York City this past weekend with about 28,000 friends as they ran in the NYC Half Marathon. They ran to raise money for a cure for Parkinson's Disease. A very successful fundraiser and what a family effort. Eric, Rowan, and Ethan all ran the half marathon while Jen got them there and back.
