New Member: We had the pleasure of inducting Nellie Young as the newest and youngest member of Kittery Rotary. Nellie was sponsored by her mother, Maryna Shuliakouskaya.
Nellie, Maryna, Brad Hirst
Though she will be going into grade 12 at Marshwood High School in Eliot, Nellie has already gained a lot of experience. She already raised $18,000 and received a $4,000 district grant from District 7780 for a previous project to build a new classroom building and repair an older one in Pachacamac, Peru. She's served as Co-president of her Interact Club, Fundraising Officer for HOLD (Marshwood) Hawks Outdoor Leadership Development, Varsity Volleyball & Tennis Captain, and as an online math tutor. Nellie is also a Paul Harris Fellowship recipient. You can read more about her latest project in the story below.
50/50 Drawing:
Bruce Williams' ticket was drawn this week. The odds were long, with just a couple of cards missing from this deck, and the pot was about $20.
Hopefully that took a bit of the sting out of his not picking the joker. Next week the pot will be a little bigger and the deck a little smaller.
Footprints Contributions:
This month we are collecting jams and jellies (peanut butter and fluff are acceptable) for Footprints.
Next Meeting: September 2, 8:00 a.m. at Kittery Community Center,
