Club Treasurer Andy had previously sent out a proposed Club Operational Budget, a Club Service Budget, and a Club current Financial report.
Also sent out for information was a revised Club Scholarship Letter prepared by the Scholarship Committee, and also from President Pam, suggested ideas for Club service Projects.
The meeting began with a quick reprise of the just completed Northeast President-Elect Training Seminar, (NEPETS),reported in the story below.
Andy presented the Operations Budget, currently we are still operating under the surplus created by the curtailment of several in-person events during the covid pandemic, the Club is ahead of budget. the budget was moved for approval and accepted.
Andy then presented the Service Budget. The Club had previously approved withdrawing up to $5,000 a year from reserves for the next several years if needed. In the last two years we have not had to do so, and we are currently able to support the known commitments for this year from funds raised last year. The budget was moved and accepted.
We then took up the current financial statement presented by Andy , after a short discussion the statement was moved and accepted.
The current concern is the expected income for service work next year, A few ideas and concerns were discussed. Pam confirmed that the proposal for a "Sports card" fund raiser for next year had been previously approved. Additional ideas were turned over to a Fundraising Committee of Pauli (Chair) Jeanine, Larry, and Brad for review and to make recommendations o the club.
Sue discussed the "stress relief " Program she is presenting this coming Saturday at 2nd Christian and then in more detail discussed the proposal for a mental health "First Aid" course which could be presented by SWEETSER. The course would be 6.5 hours long and would help people recognize and take initial action when faced with individuals struggling with mental health issues. Sue is going to have a Sweetser representative meet by zoom with us to discuss at an upcoming business meeting.
5050 Raffle:50% of the proceeds go toward the Club administration and 50% goes into the "Pot". The owner of the selected raffle ticket gets to draw a card from an ever decreasing deck of cards, if they pull the Joker they get the "Pot", if not the Pot grows and the deck gets smaller.
