Second Amendment

Margaret will be speaking on the evolving understanding of the Second Amendment and the right to bear arms. She will also address recent Second Amendment decisions and how they impact Maine ability to disarm domestic violence abusers and those who pose a danger to themselves or others.

Margaret is a former federal prosecutor and National Domestic Violence Coordinator for the Department of Justice.  In this role she was a critical resource in the Department of Justice's efforts to implement the criminal provisions of the Violence Against Women Act and to fight the constitutional and statutory challenges to these federal domestic violence organizatioins.  She is adjunct faculty at the University of Maine School of Law.  She is a graduate of Barnard College and Fordham University School of Law.

Bob Stevens

Winston Churchill

Bob was the Principal of York High School for 37 years.  He has an extensive knowledge of Winston Churchill and often speaks on this topic.  Bob was the 1999 Principal of the Year.  He was the 2000 American Legion Educator of the Year.  He was inducted into the Maine Principal's Hall of Fame in 2015.  In celebration of his 25th anniversary at York High School the School Committee had the address of the High School renamed to Bob Stevens Drive.

Kittery Land Trust

Lisa will give an update on the Kittery Land Trust.

 

Lisa Linehan is the Executive Director of the Kittery Land Trust.  Before coming on board in Kittery, Lisa was the Associate Director at the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust for nine years.  She has a long history in the nonprofit world and spent a decade serving the extreme poor in Haiti and Guatemala with Partners in Development.  Lisa is a former member and Past President of the Kennebunk Rotary Club.  She graduated from UNH and loves life on the seacoast.  Lisa lives in Kittery with her family.

Kittery Adult Education

Liinda Greer is the Director of Kittery and Marshwood Adult Education.  She will present information on local and state adult education programs.  Student stories will highlight the unique learning pathways to success.  She will also ask questions of our members to better understand the developing needs in the community.  Linda has served as the Adult Education Director since August of 2019 following careers in special education and corporate human resources.
