Pres. Dave Gooch presents an Honorary Kittery Rotarian Button to Tammy Dorrbecker, wife of the Commanding Officer of the submarine USS Greeneville. Tammy and her daughter Ashleigh (on left) have been very active volunteers in the community ever since their arrival in the spring. Canceling our usual Christmas program we collected fleece blankets for hospitalized IRAQ children. Our guest speaker Suzanne Tetrault had served at the National Iraqi Assistance Center which provides medical assistance in that country, a donation for further blankets was also provided Student of the Month: Vice-Principal Mike Roberge & Coach Ron Ross introduce Traip senior and student-athlete Jim LaMarca. One of our favorite programs, we recongize students from Traip and Shapleigh, also adding their names to the plaques hanging in the two schools District Governor Brad Jett joins Kittery President Sue Czarnionka in reinducting Brad's sister-in-law Joyce Verville. Joyce had to leave the club for a few years but always supported us with donations, calendar sales, and advertising and we were delighted she could return Sue and Greg Rydza, who were inducted on July 1st, recieving their Rotary badges
Our fourth summer inductee, Stephanie Waterman recieves her Rotary pin from her sponsor, President Elect Julie Perreault. 2008-2009 President Sue Czarnionka prepares to congratulate both of them. Kittery Rotarian and District 7780 Child Safety Officer Russ French, gave us a talk on possible projects which could be done in our commmunity to decrease the chance of Child Mortality, a major goal of the 2008-2009 Rotary International president and of our District Governor. Lisa Dennison , Executive Director of the New Hampshire SPCA, gave us an excellant program on the facilities and services. We donate a book in our speaker's honor to the School libraries and President Sue has just the thing ~ President-Elect Julie Perreault presents a club donation to Town Assistance Manager Kathy Pridham and Town Manager Jon Carter, to be used for the Oil and More Fund
Stephanie gave her classification talk and then successfully fielded questions on the sub prime mortgage mess. The photographer reports capturing Russ looking angelic after interjecting a bit of humor (once again) into the proceedings! Today long time club member Lezlye Shea Lezlye's long and active service covered much of the history of the club and Alan put together a great video set to music relating to the events, a wonderful documentary of Lezlye and the Club
President Sue presents Lezlye a Distinguished Service Award - Rotarian of the Year 1991, Past President 1997-98, Secretary 1999-2008, Paul Harris Fellow. (multiple),and also a Foundation Benefactor. She had 18 years perfect attendance! The Club made Lezlye an Honorary Rotarian, hopefully 
Lezlye will continue to join us at breakfast, at our socials, and our service projects, she remains a part of the Kittery Rotary family Kent Stephens spoke to us about Harborlight Stage's new play Cindy Zionbrowski talked to us about Camp CARD a new summer camp for children with functioning autism spectrum disorder at the Hilton-Winn Farm in Ogunquit., and the Maine License plate to support Autism programs A full house;Student of the Month Day. September & October students from Shapleigh and Traip, parents, siblings and a guest Rotarian swelled our ranks by 17. This is always a favorite Meeting program.
Club member Larry Littlefield draws the joker in the 50-50 Raffle and wins $773! The other half of the raffle goes for club administration expenses. Congratulations Larry! Everyone else tried not to look envious! Shapleigh Teacher Steve Frost introduces September Student of the Month, Seventh Grader Emily Hartley. We were honored to have Emily's parents Terri and Bill Hartley join us to recognize their daughter Shapleigh Teacher Wes Rhames joined us again to introduce the October Student of the Month Alexis D'Amour. Alexis' parents Vivian and William D'Amour were able to join us as we heard her teacher's praise her attitude and enthusiasm. Traip teacher Laura Getchell introduced Student of the Month Kat Daly, a remarkable scholar who plans to be a Bio-engineer, her parents Chris Daly and Laura Fournier joined us for the recognition. Traip Teachers Joshua Gagnon, Steve Crowley, and Jessica Perry were on hand to recognize Jacob Mendros, as were his father Peter and Uncle George
In addition to having their names added to a plaque in their schools the students sign a book which is presented in their names to one of the school libraries, they are also given a Rotary coin memento. Emily Hartley, Alexis D'Amour, Kat Daly, and Jacob Mendros. The Students of the Month for September and October are congratulated for their efforts and attitude. Their parents and teachers are thanked for the effort they have put into developing these fine students -  and leaders of the future. Kittery Rotary Blood Drive Chairperson Pam Gray displays an award presented by the Red Cross to the Rotary Club of Kittery for our sucess with the bimonthly drives. Pam was in turn applauded by the club for her efforts in coordinating each drive for us. Mary Oplinger, Program Director & Joe Galli, Executive Director, updated the Club on the Fair Tide Transitional Housing Program in Kittery. Fair Tide was recently recognized in Maine for their role in making a difference in the community District 7780 Youth Exchange Committee Chair Dave Wilson joined us to talk about the program.  Students spend a school year overseas, and an overseas student is locally hosted in a program which developes character & leadership internationally

Rob Werner of the Rotary Club of Bow NH joined us to speak about Americans for Campaign Reform and their campaign to allow public officials more time to work for the people in lieu of fund raising Kendra Downs talked to us about Kittery Womenade, a community assistance organization The holidays are upon us, the above was found at Robert's Maine Grill after the meeting, approx.12 Packed up and ready to deliver, the donations of food, clothes, and toys going to Kittery Holiday Baskets

St. Patrick's Day! Club Assembly with a lot of fun added! Greg and Jeff compare hats Our Irish leprechauns added new color to the opening ceremonies, green was the color of the day. The 2009-2010 Rotary International President is a Scotsman, so Dave Gooch showed District 7780 Governor for 2009-2010 Jeff Pelkey how he should properly dress for official occasions The Guy clan joined us to celebrate Brittany as the Shapleigh School Student of the Month Scholarship winners Stephanie Fryman and  Olivia Roy and Olivia's mother Carolyn Traip Student of the Month and Traip Senior Valedictorian Kathryn Daly and her Dad Chris Scholarship winner Jordyn Cronen between her mother Tammie Harris and Dad Jeremy Cronen

Last meeting of the Rotary Year. President Sue honors Pat as the Rotarion of the Year and thanks her for her hard work especially as head of the PR Committee The Roast Begins! President Sue's evil twin, Big Nurse Rachett makes a sudden appearance swinging her whip. She is wanted for violence at a Rotary Fund Raiser and perscribing illegal drugs for DGE Jeff helps Sue had her own famous quotes. The
And in the end ...President Sue is Sue had asked the Club to buy a CAT-Kit for the Kittery Schools in lieu of the traditional Past President's Pin & gift, we inscribed it in her honor. August 11 - Michael Rodgers, manager of the Kittery Water District provides us saome of the history of the towns water and how the system currently operates Our sponsored Rotary Youth Exchange student from Italy joined us for the first time August 25. Brad is his club councilor , and here they enjoy a laugh Acting President Russ and Luca exchanged club banners
August 25 - Judd Knox , Executive Director of York Hospital talked to us about their expansion plans September 1 - Meredith Higgens talked about managing conflict; our junior club member Jackson Yeaton was able to join us for the meeting September 22- Pauli Rines, Director of the Kittery Adult Education Program and a Paul Harris Fellow joins us as our newest club member. President Julie finishes off the ceremony by presenting Pauli her club badge September 28 - Obie tells us of his experiances at Camp P.O.S.T.C.A.R.D. Obie was a first year councilor. Dave O'Brien Season has started! Guess whose baseball team won the first match up! Students of the Month for May. President Julie congratulates Shapleigh 8th  Grade Student Zenab Shaikh, Traip Senior  Alex Pridham, their parents, and their teachers for an outstanding job Service Projects Chair Ellen McClure congratulates our $500 scholarship winners; Traip Seniors Elsie Lawrence, Amber Robinson, Eric Spear, Jack Donaldson, and Jim Collins President Julie, Italian Youth Exchange Student Luca Regallo and Club Program Councilor Brad. Luca is returning to Italy to complete his high school year there. He thanked the club for making this year in the USA possible
Officer Brian Cummer joined us to talk about the Kittery D.A.R.E. program and the Special Olympics, both are programs the club supports.
