Our Next Program: The club Christmas Celebration

Last Week's New's:

     Guests and Happenings:

~ Visiting Rotarians: Dick Santoro of the York Club

         ~ Guests: Pierre Brazeau

         ~ Special News Shared:

Many shared stories of the days without power, Obie shared that many in town still

are without power. Bill had a particularly bad week including a flat tire, family

accident, client having a heart attack in his office - all before the long loss of power.

Greg reported the arrival of twio new grandchildren. Dan reported that the package

sent to Kenya had arrived safely and was much appreciated, now more can follow.

Dave A invited everyone to his church's farewell party for him at 2 pm Sunday at his

church, he has been paster there for 36 years.

       Club News:

The Senior's free Holiday Dinner last Sunday was canceled due to the power loss in

town. This was Club Assembly and the remaining Club news is included

                     under "Program"

      Meeting Program:  Club Assembly

-The Club decided to hold a Senior's Dinner in either January or February. Dave

explained the startup of a new soup kitchen program called Table of Plenty

and Sue asked the club if they were ready to commit to being one of the

teams hosting a meal every 6-8 weeks. The Club decided to hold off deciding

until we are more familier with it.Greg said that Kittery Estates and the

Lion's Club were going to work together as   one of the teams.

               - The slate of officers for next year as well as the Vice-President for the current year were

presented by President Sue and approved by the club. Julie will be President, Russ will

be Vice-President for the rest of this year and President Elect for next year, Brad will be

Vice-President next year, Joyce will continue as Secretary and Bill will continue as

Treasurer. Recommendations for the remaining Board positions will be presented later in

                  the (Rotary) year.

               - Membership Chair Pam introduced a new concept called "Briefly Business"  Local

business people will be invited to be our guests for a meeting and given a couple of

minutes to tell us about their business. The intention is to provide a non-intimidating

way to get them to know about Rotary and hopefully to get interested in the Club.

               - President Sue announced that the Board had decided to commit to sponsoring a

Student Exchange candidate, Josh Brazeau from Portsmouth. Josh's father Pierre

Brazeau was at the meeting and explained that Josh was a senior in high school and

interested in computer engineering. Josh plays soccer, lacrosse, skiis, and does indoor

track. Responding to the challenge to get an "out-of-the-box" experiance, his first

choices for places to go are in the far east. The club is looking for someone who is

would like to be the point person for the Club's involvement in the program.

               - This was the day the Club made the presentation of the Dictionaries to all the Kittery

Third Graders. After the meeting, Ellen, Russ, Marie, Julie, and Dave went to Frisbee

School.  Once again the Dictionaries were very well recieved by the Students and Ellen

had followed the system set up by Russ of personalizing each one, an effort that

obviously made a big hit with the students. In each class we talked about Rotary and

about the importance of learning and caring for each other. We also noted that almost

one third of the children were still without power in their homes.after 5 days.

      50-50 Rafflle

(50% of the pot goes for club administration and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their

raffle ticket is chosen and they select the one joker hidden in the ever-decreasing deck of

cards. If the joker is not drawn then the pot rolls over to the next week).

Sue C drew the Ace of Hearts and lost $18.50
