         ~ News:  The club recognized the winning side in the baseball competition as our

            ardent Sox fan Joyce congratulated Obie on the Yankees' success.

Meeting

A very nice room full of people were very well accomadated at

 our meeting this morning,

 

                 President Julie reminded everyone to get their Ticket sales in for our November 5

             Celebrity Waiter Dinner at the Portsmouth Mason's Lodge. The menu will be fruit cup,

            salad, chicken or shrimp or broccoli alfredo with bread sticks, and triple chocolate cake

            for dessert.  Setup time is between 4 and 6 pm, we also need volunteers to clean-up

            between 8 and 9pm

                 Our next meeting will be District Governor Jeff Pelkey's official club visit. Hopefully

            the entire club will turn out to honor our fellow club member and hardworking District

           Governor. In the evening we will host the Pelkey family at Robert's Maine Grill to celebrate

            with them the end of their official club visits.

                Barbara Fernald was our guest today . Barbara is the Director of Footprints Food

          Pantry. Service Committee  Co-Chair Ellen (newly returned from a great cruise) enjoyed

          presenting Barbara a check for $1000 as we thanked Barbara for what she does for

          the needy in the community.

Footprints Food Pantry

 

              Russ took the lead to present a great group of Students, teachers, parents, and

         other family members as we celebrated the September and October Students of the Month.

         These students are chosen by the school departments of both Shapleigh and R.W. Traip

         Academy on a rotating basis for each department. The students are selected by their

         teachers based upon their attitude, effort, commitment, or other criteria for which the

         department considers make the Student an outstanding individual.

President-Elect Russ presented each a Rotary Coin and had each student sign a

book that will be donated to the school libraries in their honor. Russ led the

club in a round of applause for the students, teachers, and families

 

             We had previously announced that two students each month from Shapleigh,

         however the addition of the second student will begin next month.

                

      50-50 Raffle

          (50% of the pot goes for club administration and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their       

          raffle ticket is chosen and they select the one joker hidden in the ever-decreasing deck of

          cards. If the joker is not drawn then the pot rolls over to the next week). 

     

            Russ (the Hockey Champ) won the raffle and drew the King of Hearts losing $467

                                    Dinner at the Portsmouth Mason's Hall

 

           December 6th ~ Comedy Show and Dinner "The Christmas Cabaret' with

                              the "Bodacious Babes' a fund raiser for Kittery Rotary Club

                               at the Kittery Estates, tell your friends to come.
