Our Next Program: Celebrity Waiter Dinner Planning

Last Week's News:

     Guests and Happenings:

         ~ Visiting Rotarians: None

~ Guests:  None (Just us )

      Meeting Program:  .

This meeting was been planned as Club Assembly because we thought that  next

week we would have the official District Governor visit.  As noted below, the District

Governor cannot come next week. Since October 27 is the Students of the Month, the

official District Governor's visit will be the meeting of November 3rd. (Two days before the

Celebrity Waiter Dinner). We will have a social and dinner at Robert's that evening.

The principle topic of this meeting was the Celebrity Dinner. We decided we were

set to go forward with the Dinner, as planned, November 5th. Dave handed out a one

sheet break down on where our funds go along with another page on Fund Raisers

by the club and by other Clubs in the District and other local organizations. Even with

our commitment this year to the Youth Exchange program and to Polio-Plus, local

programs are still the largest portion of our fund "pie".

The District Membership Seminar is October 28th in Portland.

The registrations from the Club needs to be sent in by October 16th.

The Rotary Club sponsored Blood Drive is October 22nd, volunteers and

           donors are needed.

Next week is the Students of the Month. We will have students for both

September and October and there will be six students, one for each month from

Traip and one from Shapleigh upper grades and one from the new Shapleigh school

lower grades (4th & 5th). We are looking forward to a wonderful meeting with a

great group of students, their families, and their teachers.

The District Governor will not be able to schedule his official visit next week so we

will continue our planning for the Celebrity Dinner, which is on track with great support

provided by Kittery Estates, even though Greg and Susie are commited elsewhere that

evening (Supporting the Police Benevolent dinner, another organization they do so

           much for) .

      50-50 Raffle

(50% of the pot goes for club administration and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their

raffle ticket is chosen and they select the one joker hidden in the ever-decreasing deck of

cards. If the joker is not drawn then the pot rolls over to the next week).

President Julie won the raffle and deftly pulled the 10 of Clubs from the deck,

        leaving $435 in the pot!

Late News ~  At the Club Board Meeting after the regular meeting Susie announced

that the Christmas Caberet Event at Kittery Estates would be an added fundraiser for

the Rotary Club of Kittery featuring the "Bodacious Babes". Mark your calendars and

save the date. A very big Thank You to the great crew of Kittery Estates for their generous

support! (The "Pres" gave Susie a great big hug)
