Our Next Program:  Club Assembly

 

Last Week's News:

     Guests and Happenings:

         ~ Visiting Rotarians: none

         ~ Guests: Randy Lund

 

      Meeting Program:  .Our speaker for today took a bye but will speak to us on December 6.

         Dave filled in for President Julie. There were several rminders:

 

             ~ October 31 is the Halloween Party at the Recreation Center, we will have

                a game there, volunteers are needed.

 

             ~ Contributions to aide the District Governor expenses are requested, donations

                should be given to Bill.

      

             ~ The Blood Drive is Thursday October 22nd, we need volunteers and Donors 12-6 pm

 

            ~ The District Membership Seminar is October 28th in Portland, all are

                 encouraged to attend, the Club needs to get our Registration form in by

                October 16th.

            ~ Dave read part of a note from Penny Jett and PP Sue discussed RI's commitment

                to Literacy and went over some of the many things we have done to support literacy

                locally and internationally.

 

            ~ We will have two Students of the Month from Shapleigh from now on, the school

                would like to recognize their new lower grades as well as the upper grades. 

 

            ~ November 5th is our Celebrity Waiter Dinner, we need to get commitments of

               waiters to support the event. 

                

      50-50 Raffle

          (50% of the pot goes for club administration and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their       

          raffle ticket is chosen and they select the one joker hidden in the ever-decreasing deck of

          cards. If the joker is not drawn then the pot rolls over to the next week). 

 

       "Lucky" Larry won the raffle, but lightening did not strike twice,

             he pulled the 3 of Clubs and lost $421

             October 20 ~ District Governor's Official Club Visit

                              ~ Dinner with the District Governor at Robert' s Maine Grill

             October 22 ~ Our Rotary sponsored Blood Drive at the Lion's Club

            October 29 ~ Students of the Month for September and October. This will

                                be a big meeting since it will involve 6 students  with their

                                families and teachers.

 

             November 5 ~ Celebrity Waiter Dinner

                Happy/Sad Dollars on Student of the Month meetings goes to fund

                  our Third Grade Dictionary Project
