~ News: Pat reminded everyone of the October 28 District Membership Seminar,
all are encouraged to attend, a sign-up for registration is held by Pat
Everyone should email Susie to let her know what they are bringing to
the potluck social, the entree is being prrovided by the chef from Kittery
Estates
Dee reminded us of the 30th anniversary dinner for York Hospice to be held
at the Regatta Room September 25. Kittery Rotary is a long time supporter
of York Hospice, tickets are $25.
The Celebrity Waiter Dinner will be in early November, We will need lots
of waiters, please let Sue or Russ know that you are planning to host a table.
On the 26th of August we recieved two banners from Luca from his Italian
sponsoring Rotary Club and home District but we did not include them in the
newsletter, here they are:


On September 1st at our meeting President Julie showed us the exchange
banner she recieved from the Livingston Montana club she visited on vacation.

Meeting Program: .
President Julie called upon Ellen McClure to make a presentation on behalf
of the Club. Ellen presented Town Manager Jon Carter and Oil and More Program
Administrator Kathy Pridham a Club check for $1000 for the Oil and More Program.

Kathy & Jon, after they thanked the club, were invited to tell us about the River Dance
to be held for the program at the Weathervane "Lobster in the Rough" on Badgers Island,

The speaker for the meeting was Linda Higgens, founder and Executive Director
of Ethel's Tree of Life. linda talked about a program they ran this summer which
provided life skills, work skills, and work experiance to young men and women who
needed help transitioning into the working experiance.

The program provided seminars and workshops and the young people were
placed for several months working for businesses or organizations to get experence
and coaching on job expectations and performance.For more information on the

50-50 Raffle
(50% of the pot goes for club administration and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their
raffle ticket is chosen and they select the one joker hidden in the ever-decreasing deck of
cards. If the joker is not drawn then the pot rolls over to the next week).
Pat won the raffle but drew the 10 of Hearts, losing $352.50
