Our Next Program:  York Hospital

         ~ Visiting Rotarians: None

 

         ~ Guests: Joshua Verville, Joyce's son from Washington State

 

      Meeting Program:  .This meeting was held at the Portsmouth Masonic Lodge to allow

              club members to see the hall and discuss the idea of having our 2010 Celebrity

              Waiter Dinner there.There was a lengthy discussion over the pros and cons of the

               idea. Questions were raised over whether we could actually draw a bigger crowd

               and whether we should have an event outside of Kittery. Eventually a motion was

               made to try the event at the Lodge for one year. The vote was split with three nays

               and one abstension. The motion passed.  After further discussion a date of

               October 22nd was tenatively decided upon  Sue and Russ will chair the committee.

Frank took the "elevator ' for a spin to check it out

 

                     President Julie announced that the Board had decided to round up last

                quarter's Happy/Sad dollar contributions to the Oil and More program (about $670)

                to $1000 using funds donated to the club for community service.  The donation will

                be presented at an upcoming meeting.

 

      50-50 Raffle

          (50% of the pot goes for club administration and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their       

          raffle ticket is chosen and they select the one joker hidden in the ever-decreasing deck of

          cards. If the joker is not drawn then the pot rolls over to the next week). 

 

            There was no raffle today since we did not bring the tickets or deck of cards

           over to the Masonic Lodge

           

Upcoming Programs: 

           August 20  -  Red Cross Blood Drive

           August 25 - York Hospital, our Youth Exchange Student Luca regallo will

                               join us at this meeting
