the bucket. The guys at the "bad boys" table donated many dollars to hearing the

wild women at their back table!
Meeting Program: .

Seventeen guests swelled our ranks today, many thanks to our hosts -
Kittery Estates, Susie & Greg Rydza, and their staff
President Julie opened her first 2009-2010 meeting by inviting Richard Donhauser
to provide an update on the South Berwick-Eliot Club. The South-Berwick Eliot Club's
meeting place was not going to be open for their meeting this week so ten of the club
members decided to visit in Kittery. Kittery was the sponsor for the new South
Berwick - Eliot Club.

Dave Gooch presented Past President X3 Sue with her "Scrap Book" as well as a
copy for the club to President Julie. The scrapbooks are now a CD of the history of the
2008-2009 year. If anyone else in the club would like a copy, just let Dave know. The
scrap book is a record of our meetings, projects, and social events for the year. mostly
in labeled pictures but also some word files and scanned programs and flyers.

Collete Howard, Rina Howard, Whitney, Ashleigh, and Tammy Dorrbecker
President Julie then asked Dave to introduce the two individuals who the Club
sponsored to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp (RYLA) this year.
Ashleigh Dorrbecker, volunteers at the Eliot Town library, the adopt-a-road program,
yardwork for disabled people, and child-sitting, she plays piano and serves meals
as Kittery Estates. Ashleigh's mother Tammy, sister Whitney, and niece Zoey joined
her at the meeting.

Ashleigh Dorrbecker talking of RYLA
Rina Howard is a member of the state champion Exeter Swim Team, is a member
of two local choirs, volunteers teaching swimming for the Special Olympics, volunteers
at the Rice Public Library, and last year volunteered at the Gundalow Company. She was
on the interview team for a new Technology Coordinator at Traip Academy. Rina was
joined by her mother Collette at our meeting.

Rina Howard describing her RYLA experiance
Ashleigh and Rina related how the RYLA camp immediately got them out of their
comfort zone and challanged them to work together in teams. They described how the
team exercises continuely got more challenging over the four day camp. They both felt
they got a lot out of the experiance and found it very worthwhile. They did admit to being
a little waterlogged from all the rain.

Rina and Ashleigh fielding questions

President Julie presents Ashleigh & Rina a book to be signed by them and
donated in their honor to Mitchell School
50-50 Raffle
(50% of the pot goes for club administration and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their
raffle ticket is chosen and they select the one joker hidden in the ever-decreasing deck of
cards. If the joker is not drawn then the pot rolls over to the next week).
The raffle was not won this week - your editor did not record the details, but
the pot continues to grow and the deck is getting smaller
