Our Next Program:  Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp (RYLA)

Last Week's News:

~ Visiting Rotarians: PP Lezlye Shea, Honorary Kittery Rotarian and 19 year

Club member (retired), Tracey Smith 2008-2009 Rotary Club of Ogunquit

President, Lisa Greenlaw, past Rotary Club of Kittery member and the

2009-2010 President of the Rotary Club of Ogunquit.

~ Guests: Karol Gooch, wife of Dave

      Meeting Program:  .Club Leadership Change-Over

Duruing happy-sad dollars Dee started off the laughter of the day

with tales of 'Ayatolla Alan"  and the "sad" tale of having mice in her drawers (!).

Roast1

Opening the last meeting of 2008-2009

The regular program was first opened by President 2008-2009 Sue who

proceeded to recognize each club member with a fitting gift for their time, talent, or

          lifestyle. Only a sample follows

Roast2

Dee the "Diva' was given a fashioanble pink bola.

Roast3

Biker Brad received an ecomomy model for when he only wanted to take a small ride

Roast4

Greg "The Man" was presented with his own bubble gum cigar, good for use in

         non-smoking areas

Roast5

"Good times girls" Ellen, Joyce, and Susie (denizans of the "Bad Girls table-which is right

across from the "Bad Boys Table") receved beer and wine cups (pay back occured within

         minutes).

Roast6

Sue's "Daughter" Julie recieved a big lollipop (The apparent new relationship should

be taken advantage of by Brianna, apparently she has been missing several years of

         Grandma presents)

roast7

DGE (for a short time) Jeff received an extra eye to help him keep tabs on the District

          in the coming year.

Russ had to leave early and could not be found,

On a last serious note (and an attempt to delay the glinty-eyed cooks waiting for the

roast) Sue called up Pat and presented her with Sue's and the Club's thanks for her

hardwork and success with the Club's Public Relations as she honored her with

"The Rotarian of the Year Award"

Roast8

Pat ~   A sincere thank you from all the club!

Roast9

Then President-elect (for only a few more hours) Julie took over and annouced that

she had wanted posters out for big Nurse Ratchett, Wanted for violence at a Rotary Fund

Raiser and for handing out illigal drugs to combat "Rotary OCD"

Roast10

Roast9

At that point a living spirit  of Fund Raisers Past, "Big Nurse Rachett" burst on the scene

griping her whip and preceeded by her Mae West's. , she bestowed "her" charm around

          the room.

 Roast11         Roast12

As soon as President Sue could recover from a wave of laughter DGE Jeff brought another

distinguished Ex-President forward to provide some advice on being an ex-president, complete

with some notable quotes form a presidency of notable quotes,. Being a long time fan of her

notable guest Sue listened intendly! (or was it her interest that occasionally caused her nose

       to twitch?)

Having received much advice Sue was asked to stay in front "There is an Elephant in the

Room" (Sue had some notable quotes of her own)

It seems  our exalted leader has a time history!, and now for some  famous "Three-fers" !

(Sue is the only person to have been President of this club three different years -although

DGE Jeff was crazy enough to be president for this club two years after doing the same in

       South Berwick)

Roast13

"Three strikes and you're out " was followed by a gift of her own ball and bat

Roast14

"Three sheets to the wind",delivered by the recently gifted Joyce, who gave Sue her

       own hootch

Roast15

"The meetings were a three ring circus" was followed by a gift of a circus mask

Meanwhile periodically Julie asked "What Time is it?" and the whole club whipped out

         their cell phones to check

And then there was the periodic "Coo-Coo" from some clock somewhere.

Roast17

"Three's" continued until it came time for the whole club to rise and sing "Three Times

A Lady" ~ and boy were we awful!

Roast18

P/E Julle the presented her own gift to her "mom", a watch pendant, so Sue can have

the time right in front of her and not need to refer to her cell phone.

Roast19

Presidant had asked that in lieu of a third past-prsident's pin and gift that the club purchase

a CAT-Kit for her to present to the Kittery School system. The CAT-Kit was given to her with a

label in it saying that it is being presented in her honor and at her request.

Roast20

Finally, the Club presented to Sue a plaque with gavel on it recognizing the three terms

she has served the club as it's President ~ 1996-1997,.2001-2002, and 2008-2009.

Congratulations and Thanks PPx3 Sue !

      50-50 Raffle

(50% of the pot goes for club administration and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their

raffle ticket is chosen and they select the one joker hidden in the ever-decreasing deck of

cards. If the joker is not drawn then the pot rolls over to the next week).

Dave won the raffle and drew the two of clubs losing a sum he did not record ;-(
