Crowd

             The room was packed with more guests then Rotarians . Greg and Susie and the

         staff at Kittery Estates did a fantastic job as about 50 people were present. Honorary

         Kittery Rotarian Priscilla Guy was a very proud grandmother as Brittany's family

         showed up en mass to celebrate with her.

               President Sue started the Meeting by presenting V-Pres. Russ a check

              for $250 to pay for sponsoring a child to Camp P.O.S.T.C.A.R.D.

                President Sue then followed up by presenting V-Pres. Russ a check

                 for $1000 to support the continuation of the DARE program in Kittery

 

                V-Pres. Russ then took over the podium to introduce our April and May

             Shapleigh School Students of the Month and our May R.W.Traip Academy

             student of the Month.

 

Sean

       Sean Evans is the Shapleigh Middle School April Student of the Month.

         Teacher Ellen Robinson introduced Sean as  a person who does not hesitate to help fellow

           students or staff, a creative thinker, a budding artist and "An awesome kid!"

 

Brittany

Brittany Guy is the Shapleigh  Middle School May Student of the Month.

                Ms. Robinson described her as someone who always looks out for others,

                        a hard worker and a great role model, she has been voted by her class

 as their "Unsung Hero"

 

Kathyrn

Kathryn Daly was selected in September as the R.W.Traip Academy

Student of the Month. Kathryn  returned today to be presented by

                       Traip Principal Ms.Wanda Avery, Kathryn is the Valedictorian of her class

 and is an exceptional student and leader. Kathryn is the Traip May Student of the Month

 

 

SOM

 

Vice -Pres. Russ presented each student a Rotary coin and had them each sign

a book to be donated to the Kittery schools libraries.

 

 

                 Service Projects Chair Ellen then invited her scholarship selection team

               forward, Dee was here but Frank could not be. Ellen then presented the four

              $500 scholarship winners from the senior Class at Traip.

                Ellen was obviously having fun as she presented Scholarship checks

                Kevin Kuehl, Jordyn Cronen,Olivia Roy,Charles Denault III, Stephanie Fryman

 

            Kevin is already a videographer and  wants to be a successful director and

           screenplay writer, Jordyn intends to become a physician, Olivia is going to be a

           licensed Physical Threrapist, and Stephanie intends to persue a career in Clinical

          Radiography.

 

                          At the end of the meeting the club rose and gave the students, teachers

            and parents a standing ovation

      50-50 Raffle

          (50% of the pot goes for club administration and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their       

          raffle ticket is chosen and they select the one joker hidden in the ever-decreasing deck of

          cards. If the joker is not drawn then the pot rolls over to the next week). 

 

                           Pat Barbara won the Raffle and drew the 8 of clubs, losing $98.50
