Our Next Program: November 18 ~ Club Assembly

Last Week’s News: November 11

Club News

The Celebrity Waiter Dinner was a great success, we are still collecting funds but thanks to all our wonderful waiters/waitresses and to Kittery Estates who provided the food and their chefs who prepared and served it we made over $4600 for service (and still increasing) and over $1200 for the campaign to eradicate Polio. The success with the dinner means we will definitely replace the calendar sales as a fund raiser. An additional $152 was raised by the Master Christmas Elf and his table of elves for Kittery Holiday Baskets.

Meeting Program

District 7780 Youth Exchange Committee Chair Dave Wilson and his wife Cindy joined us. Dave lives in Portland and is a member of the Saco Bay Rotary club. The Youth Exchange program allows a high school student to spend 10 months in a foreign country, while a student from that country is hosted in the local community.   A club is needed currently as a sponsor for an interested youth who lives in the Portsmouth area.   Dave explained the responsibilities of the sponsor and also how Rotary manages the program as well as sharing some experiences with students who have participated in Youth Exchange

50-50 Raffle:

(50% of the pot goes for the club and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their raffle ticket is selected and they then draw the one Joker hidden in the ever decreasing deck of cards. If the card is not drawn the pot rolls over to the next week)
