Last Week's News:
Guests and Happenings:
~ Visiting Rotarians: None this week
~ Guests: None this week
~ News: Russ was not able to attend but Obie noted that since Russ's "conversion"
to a Yankee fan which Obie reported last week, the Yankees have won six straight.
(Editor's Question) does that mean they believe they finally have a fan worth
winning for? ;-) This is shaping up to be an entertaining season!
Frank took the opportunity to complement Kittery Estates and their chef for
another exceptional meal
Dave reminded everyone of the Polioplus benefit performance of "A Chorus Line"
on June 3rd at the Ogunquit playhouse.
Meeting Program: .Club Assembly
Joyce reported that we are still at 22 members and we had 80% attendance
last month
Sue reported that she had met with the family of Josh Brazeau, our
sponsored Youth Exchange student, this last week and they are
are extremely knowledgable and helpful in the Youth Exchange process
and a delight to work with.
It was decided that we could not support the Lawn Fete this year, about 1/3
of our club will be going to the District Conferance which starts the same
day, others will also be out of town
Jeff encouraged everyone to come to the Changeover Dinner in Portland June 30th,
the format will be different, much more casual and family friendly and the normal
talking period will be broken up to keep things moving and fun. He will need the
Club to help support him with logistics for the event.
Jeff also let us know that next year's District Conference will be at the Portsmouth
Sheraton Hotel May 14,15, and 16th. A boat tour will occur during the
conferance. There will be children's space and children's activities. Sixteen of
the District's 41 clubs and about 1/2 the District's Rotarians are within 30
minutes drive. Kittery will be providing logistical support for that Conferance
and as many people as possible are asked to plan on supporting the event.
The District Governor's May Newsletter is up on the District website, check out
the activities and get ideas from our fellow clubs, as well as District news
