Our Next Program:  Club Assembly

Last Week's News:

     Guests and Happenings:

         ~ Visiting Rotarians: None

~ Guests: Our guest speaker Tania Amazeen-Jones, Pam and Josh Brazeau,

                         Susan Heuer, Marilyn Pierce-Bulger

         ~ News

                 - Frank introduced his daughter Susan and her friend Marilyn who had flown

down from Anchorage Alaska to surprise Ruth, Susan's mother, for Mother's Day.

                - Obie announced that Russ had to scoot but he had given him a dollar to tell

everyone that he (Russ) had seen the light and that the Yankees were by far

the best team in baseball! (Obie -1, 4 Way Test - 0)

Obie

"Russ wanted me to tell you how much he liked the Yankees"

                - Frank said that Susan was finally getting to come to Rotary, he wouldn't take her

when she wanted to come once before and tell bear stories (we told Susan she

should not forgive him, Frank brought the donkey when she wanted to come!)

(For new members~Frank and Ruth used to take care of a miniature donkey who

appeared suddenly at one of our last meetings at the QuarterDeck)

                - Dave called DGE Jeff forward and reminded everyone how Jeff had felt disappointed

because the DG jackets for his year were a conservative black (of which he has

just a few!) Dave informed Jeff that he had not gotten the whole picture.

Observation of the latest copy of the Rotarian magazine clearly shows a picture

of 2009-2010 RI President in front of a sign that says "The Future of Rotary..."

RI Pres

"I read it in the Rotarian"

To help him get with the program Dave brought Jeff the real unifom of the year.

Unfortunately Jeff is a little bigger then expected, The Day Jacket was kinda snug.

The kilt looked great, but the Sporran - (that's S-P-O-R-R-A-N ) would not quite go

around and the Prince Charlie was not even a close fit. However Jeff was reassured

that kilts and jackets in two other sizes were available any time he needed to dress

                    properly for his year

DGE

Oops, should have brought a bigger jacket!

It shrunk in the closet , thats why I have larger ones!

DGE2

Now that will add some color to the outfit!

The 2009-2010 theme pin was in place on the jacket

DGE3

That's a sporran Jeff"

-Not to be out done Dan (As in Doctor Dan) stood up and took off his jacket to

display his shirt, he said it would have come in helpful last week as he discussed

medical points with our guest speakers; Dan claims he was wearing this shirt when

he met his wife Lauren (The other Dr.Hale).

What's Not to Trust!"

~ On a more serious note (we do sometimes get serious) we were very pleased to

have Josh Brazeau and his mother Pam with us at our meeting. Josh is the

student we are sponsoring for Rotary Youth Exchange. Josh is graduating this

year and put off college for a year to go to school in Strasburg France.

Josh

~ Pam told us that they will be hosting our incoming Rotary Youth Exchange student

Luca  Regallo. Luca lives in Monza Italy , he is 17 years old. The Brazeau's will host

Luca at their home for three months, another couple will host him for three months

and they would like to have a third family to host him during his year.

~  George Dow sent an email today, he could not be at the meeting, but he

announced that he Frisbee lawn fete will be June 5th. He will be away but our

Club has routinely supported the cake walk and we need to find out who can

support this year. Members (and honorary members if they would like to) should

contact sue and let her know you can support so we can tell the planners (soon)

~  Do not forget the Rotary Polio Plus Fund Raiser "A Chorus Line" at the Ogunquite

                  Playhousr at 8 P.M. on June 3

~ The Taste of Kittery brought in a total of about (with sponsor support) of $5500,

                      a lot of fun.
