Our Next Program:  Students of the Month

Last Week's News:

     Guests and Happenings:

~ Visiting Rotarians: Rick Goodrich Assistant Governor for our Area (Area 3)

~ Guests:  Honorary Rotarian and long time pillar of Kittery Rotary Club -Lezlye Shea

      Meeting Program:  .Club Assembly

President Elect Julie took the lead due to President Sue being on travel.

Julie reviewed the Board's meeting with Dave Wilson, the Chair of the

District Student Exchange program. The club will be sponsoring an outgoing

student and hosting an incoming student. The incoming student will be living

with a host family in Portsmouth and going to school there but will be the

responsibility of our club and will attend our meetings. The outgoing student

will start meeting with the club shortly. We will not know what country the

incoming student is from for several months, the student should arrive in

August and will stay throughout the school year. The club will need to provide

both a couselor and a program compliance administrator.

Dave G.proposed and Larry seconded that the club honor a deserving

town resident be made a Paul Harris Fellow. For the time being the details

will not be published, more to come in a future newletter.

The club has been offered the opportunity to hold their meetings at

Kittery Estates at no cost.  The potential of having a free breakfast can have

a significant impact on being able to attract and hold members. The club voted

to move the meetings, starting with the first meeting in March, to Kittery Estates

Meals which have been prepaid through the quarter or further ahead will be

credited against upcoming dues. There was a lot of discussion about the great

support that Michael Landgarten and the staff of Robert's has provided We will hold

our next meeting back at Robert's and this will be the opportunity for the club to

show our appreciation for the meals and support.

For those who were not able to make the meeting, pictures of the facility are

included. Parking is located around the building and there is a rear entrance

door directly into the activity room where the meeting will be held.

(50% of the pot goes for club administration and 50% goes to the lucky individual if their

raffle ticket is chosen and they select the one joker hidden in the ever-decreasing deck of

cards. If the joker is not drawn then the pot rolls over to the next week).

Marie won the raffle but lost $142.50, it is reported that she actually had her fingers on the
