The Rotary Club of Kittery International Service

Foundation Funding

We provide matching Funds and Individual donations to the Foundation supporting Rotary projects locally, in the District, and internationally. Members are encouraged to consider donating $100 a year to the Rotary Foundation which provides Grants for both local and international projects supporting health, education, and welfare. One Hundred percent of the money given to the Foundation is used for projects. One half of the money donated by the clubs to the Annual Programs Fund of the Rotary Foundation goes into a world fund to be used for international projects and the other half goes back to the districts for use in their local and international community projects.

The Club also sets aside money in the annual budget to be used as matching funds to club members donations. Rotary International upon request presents a Paul Harris Fellow for each $1,000 dollars donated to the Rotary Foundation. (read more about the Foundation elsewhere on our website)

Since the Rotary Club of Kittery was founded in October 1987, the club and its members have donated over $84,000 to the Foundation. The Club has had 59 Paul Harris Fellows awarded, and ten are multiple Paul Harris Fellows. In 2008, we were the number 2 club in our District of 41 clubs in per capita annual giving support to the Rotary Foundation. This is not the first time that the Rotary Club of Kittery has received this distinction in District 7780.

In 2007-2008, we gave in goods and funding over $6,200 to Regional and International projects.

Various Projects over the years
