Donations & Service



Fair Tide Transitional Housing Project - Donation to support the programs that provide housing and a social worker guided two year program to bring homeless or near homeless people to a stable, self sustainable lifestyle through the use of counseling and agreed upon individual goals.


CAMP P.O.S.T.C.A.R.D.- Funding to send a child for one week of summer camp run by police volunteers from around the state who provide mentors and examples as well as build relationships and self confidence. Camp P.O.S.T.C.A.R.D. (Police Officers Striving to Create and Reinforce Dreams) is designed to benefit some of Maine's most deserving fifth and sixth graders through direct involvement and mentoring with a variety of law enforcement and criminal justice professionals. 


Kittery Holiday Baskets - Providing funding, gifts, and goods as well as sorting and packing support to a program providing food at Thanksgiving and Christmas, toys and clothes at Christmas, and emergency support year round to needy families in the community.


Footprints Food Pantry - Providing funds and food support.


Hospice of York - Donation. 


Special Olympics - Donation.  


 D.A.R.E. Program - Donation. 


 Traip Summer Book List Bookmarks - A bookmark reminder for students to continue to read during the summer - visibility for Rotary, the bookmarks are ordered by the Traip Academy staff and funded by The Rotary Club of Kittery.    


 Traip Student Scholarships - Encouraging scholarship and leadership.   


 Adult Education Scholarships - Encouraging the advancement of non-traditional scholars.  


Books for the School Libraries - Rotary Club members donate age appropriate books to the club for our speakers to sign.  The club then donates them to the local elementary school libraries in the speaker's name.   


 Project Graduation - Donation to a safe graduation celebration program.   


 Student of the Month - Hosting teacher-selected junior and senior high school students who have demonstrated notable attitude, leadership, citizenship, and/or effort. They are recognized at the club and honored on a Rotary plaque at their individual schools.  


A.M.I.G.O.S. Project - (American Mission In Grace Offering Sustenance) Support for a Seacoast Program sending buckets of food to the children of Honduras to sustain them throughout the summer months and also to aide in encouraging their attendance in school during the summer.  


RYLA - (Rotary Youth LeadershipAwards) A program sponsoring high school students in leadership building programs, RYLA camp is an intensive four day leadership training program for sophomore age students. We budget to sponsor two students a year. 


Dictionary Project - As part of Rotary's concern for literacy, the club provides personalized dictionaries to all of the Kittery School's third grade students. 


Child Mortality - In 2008-2009, the club will help sponsor the Kittery D.A.R.E. Officer Program. This is a significant expansion from our past support as we respond to the Rotary International President's goal to reduce child mortality. 


York County Community College Library Fund - Donation. The YCCC serves many of our local residents and is a resource for the organizations in York County.

Assist the Kittery Recreation Department at their summer carnival, their fall Halloween Carnival,

and their mid-winter Carnival by helping with games.


Lawn Fete in the spring we assist the Kittery elementary school by running games.  


Senior's Holiday Dinner - In December, we hold a free spaghetti dinner with entertainment providing fellowship, and entertainment for our local seniors. Prepared and served by Rotarians, their families and friends.  


Christmas Parade - Providing free warm cocoa and cookies at the end of the parade.  


Oil Support - Raising funds for winter fuel support for low income individuals and households in our community. We have held a dinner for this project as well as just contributing funds. 


Blood Drive - Every other month we sponsor a Red Cross Blood Drive at the Lion's Club and on the alternating months the Lion's Club sponsors the drive. 


 Kittery Sub-Host Activities - Participating with the Town in hosting the crew of a submarine under overhaul at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard located in Kittery.


In 2007-2008 our estimated support including goods and donations to the local community was over $9,500.
